The opening of the Upper Austrian Abbey Concerts on June 8 and 9, 2024, featured the Bruckner Orchestra Linz conducted by Giuseppe Mengoli in the Marble Hall of St. Florian Monastery, performing to an audience of nearly 1,000 attendees. The program included Arnold Schoenberg’s “Transfigured Night,” Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Jupiter Symphony,” and Camille Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1 in A minor, with Dutch cellist Harriet Krijgh. Before the concert, the first “AnSTIFTung” – an artist talk with Giuseppe Mengoli and Harriet Krijgh, moderated by Eszter Augusztinovicz – took place.

“The stand-in managed to captivate with her performance, completely enthralling with her expressive, elegant, and lyrical playing.”

“Then, as the crowning finale, Mozart’s ‘Jupiter Symphony,’ performed by the Bruckner Orchestra in a grand orchestral arrangement and convincingly conducted, brought the concert to a high point. A masterful achievement.”
